Supervisor Bill Campbell was first elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Third District, in January 2003 with an overwhelming margin of victory, nearly 75 percent of the vote. After serving the remainder of a vacated term, he was elected to his first, full term in March 2004. The Third District includes the cities of Anaheim, Brea, Irvine, Orange, Tustin, Villa Park, and Yorba Linda, as well as the unincorporated areas of North Tustin, Orange Park Acres and Orange County’s canyon communities.  Born in Los Angeles and raised in nearby Pico Rivera, Supervisor Campbell is a proud southern Californian. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Loyola Marymount University, and he holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School.
   
 Steve Churm owns one of the leading independent regional media companies in Southern California.  Luke Hayes is Principal at Craton Equity Partners.  He is responsible for managing all deal flow and due diligence activities in addition to supporting portfolio companies and contributing to the firm’s investment strategy.  Mr. Hayes is active on the Boards of Principle Energy, Propel Fuels and Petra Solar.  Prior to joining Craton, Mr. Hayes spent five years working at Dow Chemical in sales and marketing where he managed joint development projects with strategic customers such as USG, Eli Lilly, Abbott Labs, BP and Ecolab.  Mr. Hayes was also responsible for managing multiple distribution channels and developing the channel strategy for Dow’s animal biosecurity platform.  
   
 David Jones is Managing Partner of SAIL Venture Partners, a leading clean tech venture capital fund.  Prior to joining SAIL, he held leadership positions with several prominent organizations, including GFG Global Financial Group as Managing Director of its $500 Million fund of funds, Interven Partners as General Partner of its $51 Million venture capital partnership based on the West Coast, and First Interstate Capital as President & CEO of its private equity subsidiary of First Interstate Bancorp with approximately $200 Million under management.
   
 Mayor Sukhee Kang was first elected to the Irvine City Council in 2004 and was successfully re-elected in 2006. With his 2008 election, he became the first Korean-American to serve as Mayor of a major U.S. city. Born and raised in South Korea, Mayor Kang and his wife Joanne immigrated to the United States in 1977 after his graduation from Korea University in Seoul.  Mayor Kang’s own American success story has helped shape his inclusive and engaging leadership style. Active throughout the Irvine community, he has forged strong and supportive relationships with the business community, education community and many cultural, service and non-profit organizations that serve the citizens of Irvine.
   

Arnold Klann is CEO and President of BlueFire Renewables.  Mr. Klann has over thirty five years of experience in new technology development and commercialization, corporate management, project finance, design engineering, construction, start-up, environmental permitting, and real estate development. Mr. Klann currently serves as the President of BlueFire, ARK Energy, and Arkenol. As founder of these companies, Mr. Klann has been responsible for the successful development or acquisition of over 610 megawatts of natural gas-fired cogeneration facilities, and been the driving force behind the research and development effort leading to the commercialization of the Arkenol technology.  Areas of technical expertise include high efficiency cogeneration development using natural gas-fired and solid fuels technologies, ocean thermal energy conversion, deep water ocean exploration and offshore oil exploration design and operations.  Mr. Klann currently serves on several international non-profit corporation boards for health, faith, and human rights. 
   
 Aaron Klemm, Huntington Beach energy program manager, has 15 years experience in energy management and sustainability.  He is a graduate of Prescott College with a Bachelors degree in Sustainable Community Development and an MBA (2011) at CSU Long Beach.  He currently serves as the Energy Project Manager for the City of Huntington Beach responsible for developing Huntington Beach’s energy and sustainability management programs.  Prior to joining Huntington Beach, he was CSU’s Energy Program Manager responsible for CSU’s portion of a $38M energy efficiency partnership and reviewing and commenting on over $100M of investment grade assessments for performance contracts.  The balance of his experience is in the private sector. Aaron was awarded So Cal Gas Company’s 2010 energy efficiency champion award.
   

Brian Kremer is a Senior Research Analyst at ROTH Capital Advisors focused on energy, with a particular emphasis on clean technology.  Prior to joining ROTH in July 2007, Mr. Kremer was an investment banker at Ardour Capital Investments, a boutique firm in New York City where he worked exclusively with companies in the alternative and renewable energy space. Prior to Ardour Capital, Mr. Kremer was a Program Executive for NASA’s Project Prometheus, which was developing advanced propulsion and power generation for deep space exploration. Prior to NASA, Mr. Kremer directed all external affairs activities for a US-led international organization building a $4.5B nuclear power plant in North Korea. Mr. Kremer began his career at the US Department of Energy, where he worked on technical, policy, and legislative issues related to nuclear and environmental safety and national security and participated on task forces to develop the National Energy Strategy. Mr. Kremer sits on the Board of CleanTech OC. He received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas (summa cum laude).
   
 Greg Neichin is a Managing Director of Cleantech Group’s Advisory Services where he assists global enterprises, investors, and public institutions in navigating and capitalizing on cleantech markets and solutions.  Greg has a range of expertise helping organizations successfully adapt to innovation and has worked in a variety of consulting, operating, and entrepreneurial roles. Previously, he co-founded PlaceVine, a leading web-based information service for the entertainment marketing industry. Prior to PlaceVine, Greg spent four years on the management team of GetActive (merged with Convio), a developer of CRM software for advocacy and charitable organizations, where he led a variety of sales, marketing, and partnership efforts as Vice President, Business Development. He has written and consulted on technology trends and commercialization for SRI Consulting Business Intelligence and worked in strategy and business development for Redback Networks. He began his professional career as a Consultant with Mercer Management Consulting.
   

Brian Olson has served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Quantum Technologies since August 2002.  From July 1999 to August 2002, Mr. Olson served as Treasurer, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of IMPCO.  He originally joined IMPCO in October 1994 and held various financial positions with IMPCO, including serving as Corporate Controller.  Prior to joining IMPCO, Mr. Olson was with the public accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP and its Kenneth Leventhal Group.  Mr. Olson holds a B.S. degree in business and operations management from Western Illinois University and an M.B.A. degree in finance and economic policy from the University of Southern California.  Mr. Olson is a Certified Financial Manager and a Certified Management Accountant.
   
 Joseph Perry is CEO of FlexEnergy.  Joe brings 25 years experience founding, managing and successfully growing early stage ventures. He has a particular focus on nurturing companies with innovative technologies. Most recently, Joe was a founder of ATECC, a firm developing a modular vehicle structure for electric automobiles. Prior to that, he served as a principal for new business venture investments at Paperboy Ventures in Washington, DC. In this capacity, he served as President for: Applied Linguistics, a natural language internet search engine company; Green Earth, a leader in the sustainable biomarine ingredients industry, based in Oslo, Norway; and WaveCrest Laboratories, which developed a family of innovative propulsion systems for the electric transportation industry. Joe holds a BS degree in Physics from Duquesne University.
   

Mayor Miguel Pulido has been a major force in the renaissance and redevelopment of the City of Santa Ana. He is currently serving his sixth term as Mayor.  A native of Mexico City, Mayor Pulido was first elected to public office in 1986 after achieving a personal victory in saving the family business from city redevelopment plans.  He has been a leader on the Council for the past 23 years and serves on a variety of national, state and regional boards.  During his extensive career, Mayor Pulido has taken a leadership role in promoting public safety, advocating arts and culture, and developing economic development opportunities for the city.  In 2001 he brought the first Mexico Trade Center in the United States to Santa Ana and continues to assist small businesses.  He is also active in clean air initiatives and in promoting alternative energy and serves as the Orange County City’s representative to the AQMD.  He also was recently appointed to chair the Energy Committee of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.  Mayor Pulido is the Co-Chair of CleanTech OC.

   

Professor Scott Samuelsen is Director of the Advanced Power and Energy Program (APEP), a Professor of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Environmental Engineering, and a Henry Samueli Endowed Chair at the University of California Irvine.  He directs as well the National Fuel Cell Research Center on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission, and co-Chairs the California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative in conjunction with the California Air Resources Board.  His research is directed to building integration and utilization of distributed generation, renewable production of electricity and transportation fuels, gas turbine combustion systems for propulsion and power generation, fuel cells and fuel cell systems for stationary applications, fuel cell/gas turbine hybrid technology, the hydrogen infrastructure for mobile hydrogen-fueled combustion and fuel cell vehicles, the systems integration of emerging advanced energy technologies, and the smart grid paradigm.  He directs research on advanced coal, natural gas, and biomass power plants for the co-production of electricity and hydrogen, distributed generation in support of energy-efficient and environmentally-preferred power generation, plug-in and battery electric vehicles, hydrogen-fueled vehicles, the nexus of electricity, transportation, and water, and smart grid technology.  

   

Greg Trimarche serves as head of Bryan Cave LLP Irvine office's Commercial Litigation practice.  In addition to litigation, Mr. Trimarche’s practice includes government affairs, regulatory matters, and business transactions, particularly in the areas of energy and environmental law.  Most recently, Mr. Trimarche’s practice has focused on the clean tech industry, including but not limited to solar and wind power, biofuels, alternative fuel vehicles, energy facility siting and permitting, smart grid, and other energy and resource conservation matters. In particular, Mr. Trimarche assists clean tech clients in their efforts to obtain “stimulus” grants, tax credits and other government incentives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (“ARRA”) and other government programs.  Mr. Trimarche also serves as Co-Chair of CleanTech OC.

   
 Denise Tyrrell is the director of the business and community outreach division as well as the Southern California Representative for the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).  She has been a key player in building vital communication links between the CPUC, local governments and the major utilities.  Publishing her first newspaper article at the age of 15, she has since published hundreds of op/ed and think pieces, produced one hundred hours of syndicated television and made a career adapting to and taking advantage of major trends in communications strategy, reputation management and coalition building.  Ms. Tyrrell achieved a national profile as the on-camera presence and primary spokesperson for the Metrolink Commuter Rail organizations during the Glendale and Chatsworth rail crashes.  Her stance on maintaining the integrity of communications with the public sparked a nationwide discussion on ethics in media and communication.
   

Steve Westly is CEO of The Westly Group, a venture advisory firm which helps entrepreneurs build the clean technology companies of the future.  Before launching his firm, Mr. Westly was California State Controller and the chief financial officer of the world’s sixth largest economy. As Controller, Westly spearheaded innovative tax programs to help close the State’s budget deficit and led the effort to commit more than $1 billion to clean technology investments. Westly ran for Governor in the 2006 Democratic Primary and was narrowly defeated.  Westly began his career in government in Washington DC, where he worked on Capitol Hill and in Jimmy Carter’s Department of Energy in the Office of Conservation and Solar. He returned to California where he worked at the Public Utilities Commission and for the city of San Jose. Westly was Vice Chair of the California Democratic Party and served four terms as a member of the Democratic National Committee.  In the private sector, Westly guided the online auction company eBay through its period of most rapid growth, working as a senior vice president of marketing, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and international operations.
